Novi Sad is well-known for being the most liberal city in Serbia. With a population of about 350000 residents, Novi Sad is a very diverse place with a thriving art scene. It's very easy to explore thanks to Novi Sad's flat terrain, meaning you can easily rent a bike and cycle thru the city. You can even get a free 90-minute tour and explore the city with the help of experienced guides. If you want to visit a beach, make sure to check out Strand, a 700m long beach located alongside one of Europe's well-known rivers Danube. It is the city's most popular place to freshen up.
Furthermore, Novi Sad has a thriving art scene, meaning that you'll have a blast if you are an art enthusiast. When it comes to nature, there are rolling hills of Fruska Gora National Park nearby, with lots of cycling and hiking trails. Generally, Serbia is a wine country so plan to stop by wine cellars. Allegedly, one of the local wines, Bermet, was served on Titanic. Oh, and don't forget to check out the local fare that features high-class cheese, raspberries, burek, cevapi, and Novi Sad's authentic index sandwich.
